Home Buyers Assistance Foundation
The Nebraska REALTORS® Association’s Home Buyer’s Assistance Foundation is a nonprofit organization with a mission to support first-time home buyers in Nebraska, with an emphasis on low and moderate income individuals and communities. The foundation also works to offer housing relief to communities affected by natural disaster.
Home Buyer Education
Home buyer education is an important step in producing an informed consumer, and home buyers who partake in home buyer education are better equipped to sustain home ownership and less likely to foreclose. The foundation helps to subsidize the costs of home buyer education through the Readiness Education Awareness Collaborative for Home buyers (REACH) program.
My1stHome Grants
The Home Buyer's Assistance Foundation awards $250 grants to qualified first time home buyers who have prepared themselves for home ownership by taking an approved home buyers education class, worked with a REALTOR® and are purchasing a home of $230,000 or less.

Approved Homebuyer Education Classes
Nebraska Investment Finance Authority (NIFA)
NIFA requires homebuyer education for all loans. Homebuyer education provides the greatest benefit when taken early in the home buying process (before searching for a home). All occupying borrowers who execute the Promissory Note must complete an approved education class. The borrower’s name and the name of the education provider must be included on the completion certificate. Certificates are valid for 12 months from the issuance/completion date.
